Welcome to the 2019
Berkshire Big Adventure Challenge
Friday May 17-19, 2019
82 Fritz Rd., Colebrook, CT
Gates Open at Noon, Check-in Friday 3pm-8pm, Saturday & Sunday 6am-9am
10am Start Saturday & Sunday
Approach is a quiet residential neighborhood, so please go slow, smile and wave to locals, and stay off the pipe.
This is a two day event. The main route is a big bike friendly tour of scenic dirt and country roads. Please note that this ride is designed for Adventure bikes (i.e., 800/1200 GS, KTM 1290, etc..) and Dual Sport thumpers (i.e., DR 650, DRZ 400, WR250R, etc..). This ride is not for 2 stroke enduro bikes. There are optional hero sections made up of rough woods roads for properly equipped bikes.
The Ledges? Okay, The Ledges. We want to ride over blow downs! Okay, we will leave a couple of blow downs in the trail for you. Possible stop at Jim Hollerich’s Museum of Vintage Trail Bikes.
Bigger. Better. Absolutely challenging, yet somehow refreshing. Miles and miles of smiles await. 15th annual event.
Team Work Makes the Dream Work
For the first time in Berkshire Big Adventure history, we are providing GPX (GPS eXchange format) to participants for nav. We encourage rider teams of four, not to exceed eight, with at least one of those riders having a GPS on board, that is also well versed in GPX, and can pickup your bike without assistance. : ) Along with out traditional BBA route, our goal is to also challenge the most experienced riders. We’re hoping for some wet weather to really make your challenge experience memorable.
Check back here for the most up to date event information available.

If you live in Mass, you are already aware of this…
“All Riders from Massachusetts Must have their OFF HIGHWAY Vehicle Registered”. We’re planing on the hero sections traveling on trails in Mass State Forests. Mass Environmental Police will exempt out of state riders for this event, but can not for Mass residents.

(Since all bikes need to be street registered for the event, your registration is proof taxes have been paid.)
Not Convinced this is for you? Here is what others (maybe even you) on ADVrider have said about past events…
If it wasn’t so muddy, it would not have been so much fun.
It’s hard to be one of the few girlies riding alone, and it’s really nice to know at one point you can just say “I need help” and y’all will come back and mock the shite out of the situation.
I had a blast! This was my first organized ride, and first time on dirt / trails in any meaningful way. I’m hooked 🙂
I had the time of my life and my riding improved hugely, can’t wait till next time.
Great videos and great riding on some BIG bikes in tough conditions.
Holy crap, I couldn’t believe the water and ruts. Awesome riding.
I had a blast on the incredible route and the hero sections were a ton of fun.
Thanks to the BTR guys for putting on another fantastic ride!
After the crappy weather we had all week, the sun came up and gave us an absolutely perfect day…
Thanks Berkshire Trail Riders for a damn good Saturday ride, everyone was super nice
You and the other guys in the group gave me the confidence I needed to ride those hero sections!
Much thanks to the btr team for putting on a killer event and a beautiful route.
Very scenic part of America. It never gets old riding that area.
I can’t imagine how much work was involved to make it run so smooth.
Hey diddle diddle, right up the middle!
I look forward to a great time at the BBA each spring and true to form, this year kicked ass. The riding, the scenery, the friendships that are built ~ I just love it.
Every time I do this ride I am amazed by just how scenic the area is. I often find myself torn between wanting to continue to ride and to stop and snap a photo.
There are so many lovely waterfalls, bogs and ponds dotting the route.
What an awesome event – my first time venturing offroad since I was a kid.
My highlight – getting the 1190 airborne (yes, maybe just a foot or so :D) on Wendy’s Rd.
